Presented by: Marcelle Indelicato, Sr. Emergency Planner with the Emergency Services Department of Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department and¬†Livia Pop from the Community Warning System’s local office

Participants will explore:

  • The benefits of preparing for an emergency
  • The purpose of having an emergency kit, making a plan, staying informed, and getting involved
  • How to address people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs
  • How to prepare for pets
  • The County OES day to day vs. in a disaster
  • Disaster Readiness
  • How to plan for all hazards and what protective actions to take
  • Community Warning System (CWS)-which is public alert and warning notification due to an imminent threat to life, safety and health
