DESCRIPTION:Supporting Dual Language Learners Series: Environmental Support Part 2/4. \nCocoKids and District 4 Supervisor Ken Carlson invite you to a four-part workshop series and community of practice focused on strengthening inclusive practices for children learning more than one language and their families. This series builds confidence and capacity to create learning environments that honor children’s languages\, cultures\, and identities. \nTopic: Creating Meaningful Environmental Supports for Dual Language Learners\nPresented by: Thena Gee\, Faculty Instructor\, Cañada College  \nThis session provides educators with research-informed strategies to design intentional learning environments that support Dual Language Learners’ social-emotional\, language\, and cognitive development. Grounded in the Personalized Oral Language Learning (POLL) strategy. Participants will explore how spaces and documentation can affirm home languages\, support bilingual development\, and make children’s learning visible. Participants will reflect on how to enhance the environment to create linguistically and culturally responsive spaces that promote belonging and build confidence to honor children’s languages\, cultures\, and identities.  \nOutcome: Participants will have an increased understanding of dual language development and greater confidence in implementing linguistically affirming practices in their learning environments. \nNotes:\n• There will be four additional Communities of Practice (C.O.P.)
