With community support, the nonprofit Contra Costa Child Care Council continued to provide exceptional services and early childhood education expertise. We touched the lives of so many children and families during fiscal year 2014.

What we accomplished together…

*Provided 16,366 individual consultations to parents with information, resources and referrals on child care and parenting issues

*Provided 2,663 families with free referrals to licensed child care and early education programs for 3,038 children

*Served a monthly average of 1,274 low income families and 2,113 children through the Child Care Fund’s financial assistance with child care costs. As of the end of June 2014, the Council’s Child Care Eligibility List had 2,465 low income children actively waiting for care

*Served 3,500 children and 395 family child care providers through the Child Care Food Program that ensures healthy meals and snacks for children in child care

*The Inclusion Project provided expert assistance to 100 children with special needs, their parents and child care providers through a total of 2,593 services from site visits to child care programs, in person and by phone technical assistance, and individual observations, consultations and support

*The Learning Institute provided 1,704 consultations and 43 workshops for licensed child care providers to help them improve the quality of their early care and education programs to benefit children prepare them for success in school
