Status: Temporary, Part-time (20 hours/week) – Potential to increase pending funding

Salary: $21.50 per hour

Are you looking to make a difference for children and families? Tandem, Partners in Early Learning is looking for
a temporary, part-time, Programs Assistant to join our Contra Costa team.

No experience necessary.

Who We Are
Tandem, Partners in Early Learning is a nonprofit organization at the intersection of social justice and early
childhood education. Our mission is to co-create equitable, high-quality early learning experiences for children
ages 0-5 that are tailored to community needs and draw from community strengths. We do this through our
flagship book rotation program, StoryCycles, in over 800 Bay Area classrooms, as well as other initiatives
throughout San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties.
We prioritize work with communities disproportionately impacted by systemic oppression because we believe
that investing in early learning is investing in equity.

Who You Are
 Passionate about supporting young children and their families
 Detail-oriented and organized, able to keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines
 Comfortable with email and basic data entry on a computer

and are committed to working with you to ensure your success in this role.

What You’ll Do
 Receive large deliveries of children’s books - unpack, apply stickers, sort, pack in new boxes
 Coordinate delivery of books to preschool sites and other community partners on an as-needed basis
 Support the Contra Costa team with office operations, data entry, and other projects as appropriate

This Role Requires
 A valid California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record, and access to an insured vehicle
o Mileage will be reimbursed at $0.585 per mile.
 Up-to-date immunizations (COVID19 w/ booster, Measles and Pertussis, as well as annual flu)
 The ability to regularly sit for long periods, and lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
