On Saturday, March 4, 2023, the Bay Area Professional Family Child Care Network (BAFCCN) conducted its FIRST Annual Forum: “Promoting Advocacy Within Family Child Care” which was held at First 5 Contra Costa. The forum was opened by the BAFCCN President, Benu Chhabra. Congratulations Benu and team for organizing the successful event!
The event was well attended by CocoKids nonprofit leaders including John Jones, our Executive Director, Margaret Wiegert Jacobs, Resource & Referral and Learning Institute Director, Monica Joseph, Quality Improvement Manager, as well as family child care providers, leaders, and several elected city officials. Ruth Fernandez, the Executive Director of First 5 Contra Costa was the keynote speaker.
The event highlighted the importance of advocacy, and supporting family child care providers reach higher standards consistent with research in the early child care and education field in order to enhance a safe and healthy environment for children and families. #familychildcareproviders #childcare
