Healthy Smiles: How to Support Children’s Oral Health

The Community Oral Health Program (COHP) collaborates with schools and community partners to enhance access to oral health services by connecting children, youth, and families with no or low-cost dental resources. This initiative encompasses both the Children’s Oral Health Program and the Local Community Health Improvement Plan.
In this review, we will cover the fundamentals of oral health care for children and explore how COHP delivers preventive oral health services in local Contra Costa County schools through education, screenings, and the application of fluoride varnish.
